Well.. it has been eighteen months since I was sleeved. I started at 420 pounds (of swinging meat) and have lost 120 pounds. YES!!!!!!! I have enjoyed the weight loss... yes it is good to see my feet.. yes, it was even better to see "Mr. Happy again... yes it feels good to slide into cheap clothes at Walmart (imagine just paying 14 dollars for a pair of jeans at Walmart that use to cost me 74 dollars at the big and tall place. But , I believe I should have lost more. I freely admit, carbs happened, I stopped being as regimented as I was in the first year. I thought because I could only eat three ounces of food within a thirty minute time I would be safe with a cup of Soup for lunch instead of meat, or a slice of toast for Breakfast. Within the last three months eight pounds has crept on (mudderflucker) so change that weight loss number to 112 pounds.

So my question to all of you have fallen from the path.. can i get back on track again? Will I never see 240 pounds as the doctors predicted with two years of weight loss.. or is it possible to get back into the regime and whip this sumavtich for good.

I have not had surgery yet but I have been reading these forums over and over so I will pass onto you what I have learned. If you fall off the horse get back on and go back to the basics. Go through all of your postop stages again. liquids a few days, soft foods then on to real food. Measure your portions and track everything you eat. Drink all of your Water and walk or exercise daily. You have come this far so I am confident that you can get to your goal!

Good luck and keep us posted.

Tapdancin,

Of course you can get back on track!! Everyday is a new day! You know what you're doing wrong! Stop it! go back to the basics, do what you need to do, do it right and keep on doin it! The weight will start dropping off again in no time! Yes, as we get further out, it becomes more of us doing the work than the sleeve, but the principles remain the same. Protein first, no snacking, 20-30-20, and exercise! Even if it is just getting 10k steps in a day! You can do this and you can finish this journey proud!! Keep on keepin on!!

No more wallowing in what you did wrong. As someone said in Anne of Green Gables, "Today is a new day with no mistakes in it." OR as they say in AA, if you have one foot in yesterday and one foot in tomorrow, you p1ss on today.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
