I had my second Lapband surgery last Thursday I was having terrible pain eating solid foods and after a swallow test my doctor discovered my band had slipped down way down over my stomach. It took four hours to take it apart and clean up scar tissue and reposition my band. Has anyone else had this happen? I am feeling fine today still on liquids I am praying this won't happen again.

I've heard of erosion, but this doesn't sound the same. How long ago did you have the band put in? Any idea how it happened? One more thing for me to worry about! Lol seriously, hope you're feeling ok.

My first surgery was on sept 2012. I did fine. I lost 65 lbs within the first year. Haven't lost much since then but maintained my weight. Still want to lose 35 lbs. I have loved my band. A few problems from time but nothing an adjustment wouldn't fix. Them a few weeks ago solid food starting killing me. Terrible pain hours after eating I knew something was really wrong. And it was! Mine was a really bad slip. Only the second my doctor has seen. The worst he's seen. No erosion. I'm hoping for a new start and lose the rest of my weight. When was your surgery ? How are you doing?

I had lapband with plication and a hiatal hernia done last Thursday. The first 3 days were miserable, but today I'm feeling better. The only thing is I laid around in bed and my kids didn't do anything but get the house messy, of course! Anyway, for whatever reason I have a very short fuse this evening and have yelled at my kids like 3 times already! Lol they are 10,12 and 16. I started looking up feeling anger after surgery and it does seem to be a consequence for some of us. Hope I can get more back to my normal attitude when I am upset, and not feel like I could pick up this trailer and throw it! Lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
