Hi , I had my sleeve done on Monday 9/22/14, was in the hospital tues and came home on wednesday, I am feeling good, they told me I would be having a lot of gas pains up in shoulder area but my gas pains are mainly in my belly, sort of like bad cramps..... no nausea.... my doctor gave me a RX for Bentyl to stop the spasm in the stomach, but I did buy Gas-X strips also haven;t used them yet. my pain level is about an 8 out of 10, have 5 holes in stomach, hurts on coughing, sneezing, walking, but all this will get better...... taking full liquid diet, including a cream Soup, I am a diabetic, and they sent me home without any insulin and my blood sugar this morning was 104. they said with removal of 3/4 of the stomach they also remove the diabetic hormone and within 2-3 months or sooner i will NOT BE A DIABETIC ANYMORE!! how great is that!!!! I lost 11 lbs going into surgery......hang in there all of you..... :) Judy Bucz 9/25/14

OMG you guys I know I am not quite at that point yet but this morning I felt so weak and so famished I scrambled an egg added a pinch of cheese and had about 3 or 4 bites.... it felt good to have texture but now I am beating myself up because I am only on pureed foods now. I wasn't supposed to eat this till friday. Will I be OK if I don't do this again? I haven't posted since I was sleeved but had my post op on the 23rd which was exactly 6 days and had lost only 10 pounds (I will take that) wish it would have been more but I have been doing great up until today. Hope you all are doing great!

The post op eating levels vary so much that some are eating eggs 2 or 3 days after surgery. As long as you didn't gorge yourself and you don't do it again, I bet you'll be fine. Of course, I'm a secretary not a surgeon. :)

I was sleeved on Tuesday. I came home yesterday and am feeling pretty good. Water made me nauseous at first but right now I'm sipping Decaf tea. Warm liquids feel better to me than cold ones. For Braylor, don't be discouraged at losing just 10 lbs. They pump you so full of fluids while in the hospital that my fingers looked like sausages! I'm sure it takes a while for all the liquids to find their way out of your body. I, too, feel better each day. Finally starting to lose some of the gas. Didn't feel any til yesterday but my stomach was rumbling all night!! I'm sure I'll be much more comfortable without all that added pressure on my tummy. I had a hernia that had to be repaired, as well, so I'm guessing some of my soreness is as a result of that. Just going to keep on moving and pretty soon this phase will be a distant memory.

Best of luck to all of you!!!

You sound like you are telling my story. I do feel a lot better this morning. I am trying to get most of my meds in. I still have stomach pains but it is better today than yesterday. I am drinking my first Protein Drink, not too bad, just drinking 2oz at a time out if 11oz total per container. I hope you and all the others sleevers this week get to feeling good soon and find you are getting slim and healthy. Oh yeah and my pouch is growling up a storm!

Got sleeved by Dr. David Kim yesterday! It went so week I went home late that same evening. I have some left side pain from the incision where they removed the stomach. Other than that my throat is really sore from the tube. Drinking 1oz of fluids every 15 mins and walking all the time! Walking makes such a huge difference! Walk walk walk!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
