This whole process has been REALLY fast for me. I decided to do the sleeve one day had an appt the next week and 2 weeks later I'm having surgery ( sept4th). Anyone else similar to me?

Same thing for me. the decision and the surgery is all happening in the space of about 6 weeks. I feel like if I don't commit to it right away, I won't do it.

Hi everyone I am new to this as well dde0a I am also a September sleever! Surgery date is September 18th with Kaiser Southbay Ca. My birthday is on September 29th so this is a great birthday present for me!!!!!!!! I don't have to do a 2 week liquid diet, but my Surgeon did ask that I loose 10 more lbs by the 12th of Sept when I have my last appt with the RN. So I was wondering if anyone can give me any tips on how to loose the 10lbs or more by then. I am so excited for my journey to a healthier me! dde04

Congratulations to EVERYONE of you.. We are almost there.

Hiii my fellow September sleevers! I will be sleeved on September 17. My liquid diet begins on September 3. I'm nervous and excited at the same time.

My liquid diet will consist of the following:

  • Water, crystal light, unsweetened tea
  • Broth, canned Tomato soup
  • Sugar-free popsicles
  • Protein shakes (Muscle Milk, InvisaWhey, Slimfast)

It's going to be an interesting 2 weeks, but I'm ready!

Melanie

We will be sleeved the same day! Best of luck to you. When do you start your liquid diet? Maybe we can be support buddies. I know I'm going to need some support to get through two weeks of a liquid diet. I start mine on September 3.

September 17 for me!!! I am so excited. Best wishes to everyone. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
