Also can anyone suggest a good vitamin D would love to try a Gummy vitamin No, you should be fine. They'll either give you a prescription dosage or tell you how much you need to take. I tend to be deficient, too. Twice I tested totally depleted and needed prescription mega doses. I take it daily now to avoid problems. The best way to get your D is by sun exposure but I get sun-poisoning from sun exposure. Being a fair-skinned person of English and Norwegian descent, I also sunburn VERY easily. And there is a history of skin cancer in my family because we are all so light-skinned.
walking_one 17 Posted August 18, 2014 Mine was 10 and they gave me prescription Vitamin d, which you take once a week (weird, right?). Only brought it up slightly so they refilled the prescription. It had NO effect on surgery date. they just said I might need vitamin d injections down the road. Good luck!
jenn2752781 13 Posted August 18, 2014 I just bought over the counter ones that's what the paper said to do 2000iu
shmily 424 Posted August 19, 2014 I was deficient as well and my psychiatrist (Gasp! YES have one!) wrote me an RX for the once a week dose till it came back up then I take 5000 IU a day. Low Vit D is very dangerous and CAN add to depression as well as other things. I do not "do" the sun because of skin cancer
James Marusek 5,244 Posted August 19, 2014 Recent studies have shown that higher blood levels of Vitamin D are associated with a reduced risk for Alzheimer’s disease. http://www.alzheimersinfo.org/prevention.html

ladyfenixnc 5 Posted August 19, 2014 There are a lot of Vitamins that are good to take. I like the gummies myself. I also drink a shake that takes care of my deficiencies and levels my hypoglycemia all day long!
