dayana4100 6 Posted August 18, 2014 I am 4 days post-op and I still feel the gas in me. How long before it goes away?
sweetjonesie 5 Posted August 18, 2014 It took a week + for the gas to go away. 1) gas x is your friend 2) if it's in your shoulder do some arm circles it helps move it in that area and3) keep walking! The gas will pass!! Keep it up
bluegudren 156 Posted August 18, 2014 Short sharp karate chops to the shoulder blades will get rid of all the gas pains immediately.
Rebeccaabrooks86 269 Posted August 18, 2014 I'm 6 days post op and have had a lot of gas as well. I've taken gas x and it's helped a lot! Feel better!
MarieMarie 346 Posted August 18, 2014 Walking is my best friend. Releases the gas and takes the pressure off of my stomach from when I lie down.
dayana4100 6 Posted August 18, 2014 Thank you all for the encouraging advice. I am a very impatient person and I have never had surgery of any kind before. I am learning to play by the rules and be patient with my new band.

My3sonsNC 1 Posted August 25, 2014 When you start soft / puréed foods eat some Activia. It helps settle your bowl track. It really helped me along with the Gas X and I am 16 days post op.
blacktxbelle 99 Posted August 26, 2014 I found and still find that if I walk a bit the gas dispels as well as massaging the abdomen in a mostly circular pattern.
