ElizabethA 5 Posted August 18, 2014 Hi Everyone, I am 7 days post-op today! And feeling really great :-) I have had almost no pain but am really struggling with the puree diet. My dietician has set a Protein target of 50-60g per day with 40g as an absolute minimum, but with only 4-5 1/2 cup size meals this is really hard to achieve. She suggests that the best way to achieve it is through animal protein, however I am not really liking the flavour of pureed meat.< /p> I was wondering whether anyone had any suggestions for high protein purees that taste great? sweetjonesie 5 Posted August 18, 2014 I was (and still am) worried abOut getting the Protein in. I bought the Protein Drink by syntax called nectar. I like the tropical cool (it tastes like a piña colada). And add Water. I use blackberry hint water. It has 23 grams of protein in a scoop. I try to drink 3 a day. Just to help with the protein. esskay77 785 Posted August 18, 2014 Scrambled eggs are a good option. pureed chicken is basically chicken salad. tuna from a can is already a decent consistency.
Nancysgastricbypass 6 Posted August 18, 2014 You can make fresh chicken and meat then purée it. eggs are also good.
TraciHade 3 Posted August 20, 2014 I liked 1/2 c of fat free refried Beans with about an ounce of cheddar cheese melted in. I am 2 months out and still have this for dinner if I need to top off my Protein at the end of the day. It is about 20g and sooo tasty.
