6 weeks out and hungry!

Recommended Posts

I am six weeks out and I am getting hungry more than I thought I would. I have added a few new foods and I am tolerating them well. However, it seems like I have met a plateau or something as my weight does not seem to be going down. I am walking and tire flipping. What should I do?

I have the same problem and I'm 18 months out. I graze all day long (I have a desk job) pretzels, chips, Snacks, I tend to eat something salty and then want something sweet. This goes on all day.

I have lost about 100 lbs but I want to eat all the time. Granted I cant eat much at one time but when I am full it only last for an hour or so and I want to eat again. I know its mental hunger, that Im not really hungry, But I have never had any will power, thats why I got the surgery to force me to stop eating so much. That part worked, but the mental part is still with me.

I would hit plateaus and stay at the same weight for a couple of months, then it would drop 10 or 15 lbs then plateau again, it was very frustrating.

But then t I am the model of what NOT to do as a WLS patient. I didn't change my eating habits other than the amount I ate and I do absolutely no exercise at all.

But I have still managed to lose 100 lbs.

I'm in the same boat. I'm 5 weeks out . I get all my Protein and even go over. Average around 100-120 g of protein but I feel like I can eat lots of food. I'm trying to focus on more Water. I don't exercise as much as I would like too. I am in a stall between 240 to 237 it moves back and fourth

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
