I'm not normally a casserole person, but tuna helper can be pretty yummy if its cheesy. Latley I've been noticeing that my ability to eat much is much decreased and I'm having trouble thinking of balanced meals sometimes that are tasty. So what about a casserole that follows that bandster proportions (heaviest on protien, and then on veggies, and then some carbs. And throw in some cheese for me. I like cheese.) ? Any ideas?

Hehe, there was a story in the paper this mornign about a Scottish woman who fed her unfaithful husband dog poo in a curry, she had to admit to it in court. I think I'll stay away from casseroles for a while!

I love vegall casserole although I'm not about how bandster friendly. I bet if you use the lowfat cheezewhiz stuff it would help and butter instead of margarine. I don't even use margarine now that I'm banded. Here it is it is fabulous tasting and soooo easy.

3 cans vegall, drained

1 can lowfat cream of mushroom or chicken Soup

1/2 stick of butter, melted

1 small jar of lowfat cheezewhiz, microwaved about 30 seconds

Stir up together and put in over until bubbly about 30 min. on 350 degrees

Then crush up lowfat ritz crackers and pour on top and melt the other half of stick of butter and pour on top of that and cook for another 10 min. or so.

It sounds fattening but I use the fatfree and lowfat stuff and I can't eat much. It is delicious.

You could also brown up some ground turkey and drain and add this to the other ingrediants to get more Protein. Sounds yummy, the cheezewhiz is a lot calories, even the low fat, but does sound good!

I LOVE casseroles and make them often and freeze them in those 1/2 cup Glad containers...easy meals to heat up (for me and the kids!)!!! But you should see my freezer!! haha! My mom comes over for lunch and pulls out 2-3 of them to eat for her lunch!

Our favorites--not really lowfat, but not too awful are these:

Cheesy tater tot casserole.

1) Put 1 pound of hamburger or ground turkey (uncooked) spread out in a 9x13 pan.

2) Add 2 cans of veggies (drained). I usually just add green Beans as my kids love those the best--sometimes mixed veggies, depends what I have in the house!

3) Add 2 cans of cheddar cheese Soup spread on top.

4) Top with tater tots

5) Bake at 350 for about an hour I think.

The other is the chicken and stuffing one on the Stove Top box...I just throw it together now and add mixed veggies. (dressing, chicken, cream of mushroom, LF sour cream) I usually buy the cooked cut up chicken for convenience for it and usually have that in the freezer.

Just got some Italian meatballs already cooked and frozen and put them in the crockpot with BBQ Sauce. I put them in containers, usually 2 meatballs in a container with sauce and freeze them too.

I like to get ahead on easy meals as I have little time to cook! I also have some LC and SBD meals in the freezer for if I really need something in a hurry...and they usually make 2 meals for me.

I try to eat kinda "normal". :hungry: I definitely am sticking to it much better. I do get my Protein in first though and now have a terrific fill and can't eat much so am back on the wagon! I lost 80 lbs in my first year and now had been stuck...just lost 7 more and back to it.

Hope these help some!

Kell

87 lbs down and 40+ to go!! :clap2: Back exercising daily and back on my way....

I make this a couple of times a month and eat it for lunch all week:

Taco Bake:

1 pound lean ground beef

Taco seasoning

1 can refried Beans

1/2 jar queso

Chopped black olives

2 low-carb tortillas (Mission makes some)

1/2 jar taco sauce or enchilada sauce

Cook and drain the ground beef and make with taco seasoning as directed on package.

Add taco/enchilada sauce and refried Beans. Stir to combine and warm over burner.

Spray an 8x8 casserole dish with nonfat cooking spray.

Lay 1 tortilla on bottom, pour bean/beef mixture over it. Then put second tortilla on top of that. Then add queso and top with a few black olives. Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes.

I made coq au vin from scratch yesterday, drooool. I love cooking stuff like that, I love shopping at the deli and the butcher, and the fruit and veg shop, all the little separate shops, so much nicer than a supermarket. So we did all that, it was a rainy cold afternoon here in Melbourne and I spent it cooking. It was delcious, the smells in the house were divine. You cant beat a good casserole in winter.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
