kll724 3,055 Posted August 16, 2014 You should check with your surgeon's office, but generally waiting for 6 weeks is required. Best wishes.

AvaFern 3,516 Posted August 16, 2014 Light weight lifting...like 5-10 pound arm weights while you're sitting down won't hurt you right now. I was fully back into a gym routine at 5 weeks, but I feel as if at 2 weeks my incisions were still pulling a bit and any real type of lifting might have been uncomfortable. Let your body be the judge...if it hurts, don't do it.
taylorj7 51 Posted August 16, 2014 Hi There, I am also about two Weeks Post Op as well, and cant wait to get back in the Gym. My Doctor said nothing but walking, walking, walking for four weeks. However I am doing plenty of Summertime household chores around the house which is also helping. Just have to be a little more patient.
aroundhky 1,174 Posted August 18, 2014 Walked right after surgery and then starting light lifting about 3 weeks post op or so. But everyone is different. Whenever you are released to start more intense exercise, just make sure to ease into it and gradually build up. Your body will be a lot different (kind of like a kid in a growth spurt) and you'll need to learn how to handle it (your body) again. Congrats on your excitement and eagerness to exercise and I wish you the best!
Rebeccaabrooks86 269 Posted August 18, 2014 I read that the stationary bike and treadmill are okay as are swimming but to wait a few more weeks on heavy lifting. Congrats!
