MizzouFan1 88 Posted August 16, 2014 Sleeved on 8/7 and I am down 20.1lbs since surgery....that is 9 days. I am down 30lbs since my liquid diet which was July 31st. I am a little nervous this seems extreme. I am not necessarily complaining but I just want to make sure there isn't anything I should be concenred about it or is this not that uncommmon? DOS weight was 287.6 and I am 5'10. Any insights would be appreciated! Thanks everyone!
New1 201 Posted August 16, 2014 Your weight loss seems comparable to many others this early on. It will more than likely slow down and you may even experience a stall in the next few weeks as your body readjusts. Good luck.
New1 201 Posted August 16, 2014 You also may have lost some pounds of the IV Fluid that usually gets pumped into you during surgery.
MizzouFan1 88 Posted August 16, 2014 Thanks New1! I was just getting a bit nervous thinking something could be wrong...I just imagined myself to be a slow loser with the PCOS and Hoshimotos. I dread the idea of ending up in the hospital again so I am trying to be cautious and probably inadvertently turning myself into a worry-wort.
Sassy Pants1 186 Posted August 16, 2014 You're doing great! The first month is the big month of weight loss. You will likely see things slow down a bit each month thereafter. So enjoy the big loss!
lylabelle 257 Posted August 19, 2014 Also if you dropped all carbs and sugars since the start you have lost glycogen stores which can be like 10+- pounds (which is why when people go low carb they can lose 14 in a week)
