Liquid Diet Advantage or Unjury .. Which did you like?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to order my post op and pre op liquid diet materials over the weekend and was just curious

which you preferred?

I'm a chocolate lover --- how does it taste? Which brand did you like? did it mix well?

Were you able to do a liquid diet for 2 weeks with no issues -- I'm a tad scared.

I don't have a surgery date, almost done with my pre testings *endo and sleep study this week* ...

I'm hoping within the next month to have the sleeve ...

Anything you can do to help me.. thanks!
Georgette

I've been trying some pre op. I like Designer whey but I need to find one with more Protein. I just ordered some Body Fortress isolate from Walmart

T-nation Metobolic drive is a great Protein Shake and tastes great. Recommended to me by a NUT.

I like body fortress whey protien. The chocolate ls goog and if you add Torani caramel it tastes like a caremel mocha latte. I get them from walmart.com. they have a special order 3 and they are only $14 each add a couple torani flavors (sugar free) and you get free shipping to your home.

I love Unjury chocolate. I didn't care for the chicken or unflavored. I'm five months post banding and still drink the unjury some mornings for convenience. Order some packets too. Those are great for travel.

I like the Unjury choc. Splendor and vanilla with skim milk and ice in blender. I was banded pn Tuesday and found that I could ly do two sakes with the milk. The third I liked to use either the unjury strawberry sorbet n crystal light lemonade. I also lie the Nectars to mx it up. I aso keep te premier choc and vanilla on hand for on the go! Hope it helps. I found I was not hungry doing it this way!

Thanks all ;)

I think I might order some unjury to have on hand in the house. I'm looking for the best tasting LOL :) I'm sure it's hard, everyone is different, but Unjury seems to be a winner by lots of people.

How does everyone do on the liquid diet - did you find it hard??

I'm very worried about it .... 2 weeks prior and a month after... I get very bored fast.

I just wanted to add, I have really not liked the Unjury flavors I've tried. I've done the strawberry Sorbet and Vanilla, and they both have this OVERPOWERING smell and a weird aftertaste. Syntrax Nectar is so much tastier and it doesn't stink. I don't know about Unjury's unflavored, but Syntrax nectar unflavored is great.

I am a big fan of Unjury chocolate Splendor. I enjoy the taste and it mixes well with fat free milk for extra Protein. When you are able try mixing with PB2 ( Peanut Butter protein powder) or frozen banana. I also add Torani Salted Carmel sugar free Syrup to the mix for a change in taste

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
