Hi,for some reason today I ate two packets of maple brown sugar oatmeal for dinner. In the morning I had 4 oz of Protein Shake and three hours later, another 4 oz of Protein shake. Three hours after that, I had 2oz of cheese and one tsp of Peanut Butter.< /p>

Could it be I have not been eating enough in terms of how much you can eat with a sleeve. Anyway, I'm really concern. Is this normal? I am almost 4 weeks post surgery. Please give me your advice.

Thank you,

Lucy

I have never had an issue with drinking. I can drink 12 oz of Protein in a few minutes. I love cheese, it has always agreed with me. Also Peanut Butter no issue. I am 8 weeks out and just tried oatmeal. Since it was liquidy I ate a packet with no issue.

You're doing fine. At 4 weeks I was to start regular foods as tolerated. There are just some foods that are easier to handle for each person. There are some I try and know I'm not ready.

I have started to use my fitness pal more faithfully now that my meals are getting more regular. So for dinner I had three small pieces of lunch meat and two slices of Munster cheese. I roll it up and eat it slowly. Goes down easy. I love it.

Just try things and be mindful of the portion size if it is too much. Track it if you want to know if you're reaching your requirements. But keep on trying new things.

My nutritionist said to focus on getting in at least 64oz of liquid + 60g of Protein and to avoid 'grazing' on foods. As long as I'm following those guidelines and still losing weight, there's no cause for concern. I told her that I was concerned that I was only taking in about 600-700 calories a day but burning over 600 at the gym. She said on days when I go the gym, to allow some extra calories (e.g., 5 small meals instead of 3), but to make sure the added food doesn't cause me to stall. She did say if I ever did begin feeling dizzy or consistently without energy to contact them immediately.

When I reach my goal weight we will adjust my caloric intake and exercise to levels that allow me to maintain weight rather than continue to lose it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
