Doing great even though I am at a plateau

I was banded May 15, so I am almost 3 months out from my lap band surgery. I have been very discouraged lately because the weight loss has stalled but I am confident I will get the weight loss going again real soon. I have not been exercising but plan to change that immediately. Going walking tomorrow morning. I have been eating really well. I have not cheated with carbs, sliders, sweets, candy or fast food. But I have noticed I am getting a little lazy. I am not getting in enough Protein. I am not eating enough vegetables. I am doing well not eating late at night and I drink non-calorie drinks all day long. My hunger goes away for 4 hours after I eat so I may be in the green zone. I think I am in the green zone because I am not hungry between meals. But I do skip meals and I am not eating my protein first, veggies next. I have been very discouraged because three months out I thought I should be 30 pounds down. I started at 187 and now I am 154.5. Gotta get out there and exercise because I am not eating too much food but without the exercise I am at a stall and not losing right now. I am battling the negative comments flooding my head. But I will be happy with the thought that weight loss that comes of slow is probably the best way for me to get the weight off. OOOOP's somehow I posted the pictures but it placed the pictures over what I wrote. I will soon rewrite what you can't see since the pictures are obstructing the lines. Anyway, meant to say I am confident I am going to get past this set back. Losing slow (from 187 to 154.5 in three months) is nothing to feel bad about. Many lose so fast but I am not but I am not going to let it get me down. I am going to succeed even if the weight comes off slow. I am happy with that. Gotta start exercising and eat a lot more Protein because I am not getting in as much Protein as I should. I haven't had any bad foods, no sliders, no ice cream and no fast food. But I do get lazy and eat a few crackers with cheese when I should be making better choices. Anuyway would love to hear from some of you out there on my subject!!! Also I started out May 15th at 187 and weigh 154.5 right now. I was hoping to be down 30 pounds by the third month. But I am clinging to the notion that weight loss slow is just as good as losing weight fast. It is just hard not comparing myself to all you out there that lose so fast!!!

Would love your input!!! By the way I think I am in the green zone.

Hi there and congratulations on your success -- you are doing beautifully! Like every one, I want to "get there" but I honestly believe the gradual loss is so much healthier than sudden drop. I don't want to be loose and flabby; I want to be toned. Also, while I'm over the moon about losing weight and feeling like I'm in "normal" range (albeit a ways to go), I'm also just so happy not to be in food jail anymore. Having the appetite monster off my back is a beautiful thing, and if it takes a while to get to goal then so be it. I'm not suffering on some diet, I don't feel deprived. I feel happy. Good luck to you -- you're doing great!

Most of us veterans don't really consider 2 weeks a stall. Maybe at 4-6 weeks it's a stall if you don't lose weight and your clothes still fit the same?

For example, you might lose 3 lbs of fat in two weeks but your body may be retaining fluids due to sodium, TOM, over exercising(muscles hold back water), stress or illness. You've lost 3 lbs of fat but it won't show on the scale.

I've stalled for months... but usually that is due to becoming careless about exercise or food choices. The last instance was an indicator that I needed another fill.

Before WLS what are now "stalls" would have been periods major weight gain! I can go on autopilot for several months without gaining a pound, and that is a good feeling! I've actually been able to diet to a slightly lower weight that were I am now at almost 2 years out of surgery, but I was not able to maintain the weight over the winter months and eventually gained and lost on a yo-yo course. The band at worst provides stability and the weight stays off. At best, I see a few pounds being shed every few weeks.

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive).
