tangerinetrees 3 Posted August 15, 2014 Every couple of days since surgery (july 28th), I get these super deep, intense hiccups. They seem impossible to get rid of and can go on for hours! Any thoughts?
fezik23 240 Posted August 15, 2014 I only get hiccups when my sleeve is FULL. It's telling me not to eat another bite. Could this be what's happening to you?
cstewart 17 Posted August 17, 2014 If you had a hiatal hernia repair at same time of your sleeve it could be your diaphragm being irritated. I have a few min of hiccups with meals sometimes especially if I eat too fast.
kd5wzr 108 Posted August 17, 2014 My hiccups were very uncomfortable frustrating but only lasted about 24 hours after surgery. Deep breathing usually helped. I would run that one by your surgeon at your next post-op appointment or by phone if you don't have one for awhile.
hollym123 10 Posted August 17, 2014 I still get hiccups and I had my operation on May 16. For me it's my tell that I've had enough and to stop eating.
