My advice: you can't change your decision so suck it up and accept it! (harsh, I know, but why sugar coat?)

I'm only 8 days post-op but I've definitely had my moments. What's helped most, honestly, is the number of threads I've read on here where people have asked if anyone regrets their sleeve. Lots of people said they did the first couple months but once they got through that, they felt like it was the best decision they'd ever made. So I'm just trying to hang in there and know that it might suck for awhile but that will pass and then it should be great!

Hello, Jason from VA...

What's done is done. You can't really undo it, so you might as well work with it. :) . If you are having regrets that are bringing you way down, you might want to talk to a therapist to work through them. But if you are just reeling from surgery and need reassurance, all of us have lots of advice to give.

Also, it helps to give us an idea of what you are asking about in the title of your post. You have started at least two threads with "Jason from VA" as the topic in two different forums. Maybe a topic like "Need advice, feeling depressed" or "Post op exercise question" as topics so we know what to expect going in..

You are going to do fine Jason! Just think of the possibilities when you're thin. Think of how much longer your probably live (hey even thin people can step off a curb and get hit by a bus;) ) I know that the thought of digging into a huge pile of chicken wings or nachos is sad, but we are not lucky to have the metabolism like that(those rat bastards that do can kiss my wide fat Norwegian a$$ lol) but think about going out in public in shorts or not being winded walking to the mailbox. Okay I'm putting down my pom poms ...now get over it sunshine and work to your new future. At least the scary part (surgery) is over and you lived! I am still on this damned 1200 cal diet for 82 more days. That will hopefully land me right in the middle of the holidays(yay!...not ;( but I want to get it done before I have to pay more deductibles. That is unless I kill someone from chocolate deprivation...oh well then the state can pay for it.

Good luck and if you need to bitch at someone, I'm always around.

I think I have found my peeps!

Elsewhere on this board are some deep sinkholes of sensitivity a body could disappear into. Shee!

I'm 14 days out today. Feeling good. Doing good.

I had one WTF?! day -- fortunately, it was Day Two. And when the sun rose on Day Three it was over.

What's for dinner?

Why would you not be able to have yams or pumpkin pie? Just have a wee tiny slice of pumpkin pie after thanksgiving dinner and you'll be fine.

Post op is a turbulent time. If you made it this far, pat yourself on the back. This site is the place for support whether we're feeling great or crappy. Haha. Autocorrect changed "support" to "supper". Guess what I type about a lot.

I'm hoping I'll with be a few days past opp and on a clear diet or I'll be pre op and on Protein shakes only....I could probably put some pumpkin puree in my shakes lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
