une nouvelle vie 327 Posted August 13, 2014 I looked around a bit and I've seen apps mentioned in individual threads, but I didn't find a thread where people came in to specifically sing the praises of (or warn against) apps we can use to help us with our new relationship with food. I'm a big believer in using any help available and I see my sleeve as the greatest tool I have so far but far from my only tool. So since many of us use our phones and tablets for a multitude of things, what are the apps you use that help you with your journey? If you don't mind, please link to the app online if there is a page for it. That way others can check it out and see if it may help them as well. Two that are helping me so far: Fluid you're drinking. I love my surgeon's food and exercise tracking feature on his website, but his Water tracker could be better so I love this app. lunch break for so long where I used to work, but I knew I needed to slow down once I was sleeved. Even though I tried, I still found myself eating too quickly and I was afraid I'd start eating too much if I wasn't careful. With this app you can set the interval of time you want to have between bites and it alerts you (sound and/or vibrate) when it's time to take another bite. So those are my two for now. Anyone want to share?
Andrew0929 1,101 Posted August 13, 2014 I use CalorieCount on an iPhone and through the web to log food, Water, and exercise. I tried MFP but the library of food items was lacking. I've been very pleased with CalorieCount. 1 une nouvelle vie reacted to this

jessiquoi 623 Posted August 14, 2014 so, i tried Eat Slower, and omg it drove me crazy! when i first turned it on, i kept thinking "it HAS to be 45 seconds already! it just HAS to be!" and i would check my phone and see it wasn't. and i found it very hard to hear on my phone, even with the volume turned up. i tried several different alarm sounds to see if i could improve it, but i couldn't and i missed a couple of bites which bummed me out. all in all, a frustrating experience. i downloaded it onto my tablet and i'm going to try that tonight, to see if i can hear it better. i love the idea, though. fezik23 240 Posted August 14, 2014 I use Pacer to record my steps. It automatically syncs with MFP and you get a good snapshot of how your walking can affect your food needs.
