How much have you lost?

Recommended Posts

I posted earlier that I am working on remembering how far I've come to help motivate me to where I want to be... I've lost a total of 76lbs (gained some back). So I had a coworker take my picture with two 35lb Water jugs.

How much have you lost? Is there an item that weighs that amount that you can pick up to show yourself how much you're NOT carrying around any more?

As of my weight this morning I am down 52 pounds. That is a 50lb bag of dog food. That is crazy to even think like that.

A while back some one posted a "what things weigh" list and for some reason I latched on to a cinder block weighing 33 pounds. I have always found cinder blocks hard to manage -- we have 16 acres, a farmette, and I've had to deal with a few of those in my time. So I was delighted when I shedded something that heavy. Imagine carrying around a cinder block all day, all night. Well, you have reminded me that at 66 pounds I will have put down two of those! No wonder I am so happy and full of energy these days. Geez. And now I have my next little goal, yippee!

I fluctuate between 125 and 127 lbs. so I've lost 140+ lbs. That's more than half my initial body weight before surgery. I imagine myself literally cut in half when I think of before and after. I post this picture sometimes to show people what this amount of weight looks like. Yes...those are both pictures of me and I think it says it all.

From my all time high 90 lbs. since banding 70. Cannot imagine going back to being so tired. Left items at bottom of stairs for hours to make fewest trips up. Clear now

It's so inspiring to read all of the weight everyone is losing. I'm only down 30 after 6 weeks but taking it a day at a time. Thanks for sharing everyone!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
