How close together?

My doc won't do it closer than 30 days :( I don't ever think it's an issue but ya gotta follow doc orders - right!?.

Not if your doc is OK with it. Most docs won't allow their patients to make that decision. A good doctor will query you about what you're eating and if you're losing weight and exercising?

Sometimes patients feel like they're not tight enough but they're eating slider foods. If you're following the rules and do not feel satiety for 4 hours I see no reason to not ask for another fill. I know I did, 6 times.

It can take a few weeks for a fill to "stabilize" and to show whether it is working or not. A fill can cause the stomach to swell, and it needs time to adjust. You can't rush the process; and don't be afraid to consult with your provider's office. As a reference, my doctor is conservative, and it took three fills and almost four months before I was able to see any weight loss. As you lose weight, you probably will need more fills to keep you in the green zone.

My dock likes a month. We tend to want everything fast, but be weary of trying to rush this process. Take it slow and easy, it'll last longer.

my clinic also has a 30 day guideline. I was told it can take up to 2 weeks for the effect to kick in. I waited 6 weeks between fills and stalled.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
