Surgery 9/2-Anyone else have Sleep Apnea? Kinda Nervous.

Recommended Posts

Hey Lovely People!

My surgery is on 9/2 but I suffer from sleep apnea (received my C-Pap Machine last month) kinda nervous about being put under because of the sleep apnea.

Thoughts on this..

Don't worry. I got my CPAC machine right before surgary. They will just monitor you closely.. No worries. Good Luck you will do fine.

i've had my CPAP for about 7 years and have been put under 2x since then. absolutely no worries, someone is watching you all the time and you are safer than when you go to sleep at night. :)

It wasn't until after surgery that I found out I had sleep apnea. They will monitor you very carefully while under. And after! Will not effect your surgery. :)

received C-Pap Machine

@@BeenGym'N

like others above correctly have said - don't be concerned about the absence of your C-PAP :blink:during surgery

as others also said, "you are being monitered carefully" :)

doc won't let you CROAK

he would worry about getting paid :D

i wore a CPAP for 3 years pre-op

2 months PO

went for another sleep study

found out a couple weeks later

NO MORE C-PAP :)

(because of weight loss)

other health issues (ie blood pressure, diabetes etc) will also improve/or be eliminated :)

3+ weeks before WLS

you are on the right road to a healthier, happier, longer life :)

enjoy the ride :)

good luck

speedy recovery

It was no big deal for me either. My doc said to bring my CPAP machine to the hospital, just to help me sleep better after surgery. Apnea is a common problem among us and the doctors and hospitals have protocols in place to handle it.

I was told by my surgeon to bring it to use after the surgery. They will have you on a breathing machine as well. I think I am more nervous about post surgery. As long as they give me something to calm me before I go in, I am straight, lol.

I had severe sleep apnea - now cured!

During surgery, they have you intubated so no additional risk. The risk is after surgery while you are still a bit "suppressed" so they want you to use your CPAP and monitor oxygen levels. No problem.

Had no problems at All. The Tech's will come and check you machine to insure the proper setting and pressure.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
