Okay, had the darndest thing happen today and wondering if I'm alone.

I take a small cooler with me on errands now and it had a bottle of Water, bottle of Crystal Light, Colby jack cheese and string cheese. Just a snack because I'm still eating every 2 1/2 - 3 hours. We went about an hour away to the nursery and spent probably another hour in the nursery. I had G2 and 4 pieces of bacon then 8 oz. of Crystal Light this morning before we left the house.

After we left the nursery, (it had been 2 1/2 hours since I had anything) I grabbed a piece of Colby jack from the cooler because I was feeling a little funny. On the way home, I realized I couldn't read the signs at the side of the road, not only curve ahead signs, but also street signs, etc. More like I could see the first letter (sometimes) and the last two letters and everything in the middle was totally blurred. About 1/2 hour or so into our trip home, it started to get some better and it was better by the time we got home. Has anyone had this happen?

I'm going for my 6 week check up on Friday but there hasn't been any blood work ordered. I'm going to call my primary care physician for a blood work order tomorrow but don't even know how to explain what's happening. Any ideas? Thank you.

Do you take blood pressure meds, if so it could be that your blood pressure has dropped too low.

This may have nothing to do with your situation but this happened to me when my blood sugar levels where out of control before my diabetes was diagnosed. It's pretty scary but I'll bet the answer will be in your blood tests. Ask them to check your blood glucose levels just in case.

Check your blood pressure if it low then you should not take any more BP meds until you see your doctor on Friday. This happened to me! You may need your dose adjusted or taken off the meds.

That sounds like low blood sugar. if my blood sugar levels get below 65 my vision starts to get fuzzy.

any change in your blood sugar can cause fuzzy vision. i am always so very much more careful with my blood sugar (i'm a type 1 diabetic) the week before getting my eyes examined, trying to get the truest reading.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
