It's probably perfectly "safe", but one of our cardinal rules is no rice, bread or Pasta, especially in our losing stages. They are just empty carbs with little to no Protein. I did add more carbs in the form of whole grains and fruit once I passed my goal weight, but even boiled rice isn't worth all those carbs and calories to me.

I'm 8 months out and rice hurts sometimes. The problem is, it has the tendency to expand in your stomach and fill you up before you get your Protein in.

On the soft foods, 100% of your intake should be lean Protein of some sort.

I do not eat rice, Pasta, white bread or potatoes. Because I love sushi so much I had to try to see if I could eat it. At about 4 months I ate a few pieces of sushi and an hour later wished I had not. The rice swelled in my stomach and I felt terrible. That was the last time I tried. It is not worth it to me.

It depends on your program! This question would be best directed to your nutritionist. Every program is different and each have VERY different 'rules'. My program DOES allow rice, Pasta, bread, toast, tortillas, etc. I am 7 wks out and eating many forms of whole grain carbs and complex grains and losing nicely.

I have no restriction on rice/pasta/bread etc. Occasionally I have said items with no digestive issues. Lots of people do have a terrible time with them, and a lot of people avoid them because they are so carby.
