Protein shake question

Recommended Posts

Hello I left a Protein Shake out all day t was a Premier Protein shake that I had blended with ice but had to leave it. When I got back home that night I had poured it out in the sink. It did not drain down the sink so I washed with Water and still it did not wash down the drain so I had to pick up the big glob and throw away in the trash. Has anyone else had this happen to them, and my next question is what are we really putting in our body with these Protein Shakes?

That sounds pretty disgusting! I haven't tried the Premier Protein shakes, so I don't know what all is in them. I make my own shakes using pure whey Protein isolate, half a cup of soy milk, Water, ice, psyllium husk powder (for fiber), and sugar-free flavored syrups. I have not experienced anything like what you did.

The really weird part is that those pre-mixed shakes are stored at room temperature in the store, right? And they remain in a liquid form. I don't know why blending it with ice like you did, then leaving it to sit at room temperature would affect the consistency at all other than to maybe dilute it even more as the ice melted.

Yea I know. It was so disgusting though. And I've been drinking them almost daily for a while. I'm 13 months out and only drink then now for Maintenence.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
