jessiquoi 623 Posted August 12, 2014 i'm sitting at my desk waiting for my doc's office to open so i can call them. i'm totally paralyzed right now. all i can think about is "please don't let this throw off my WLS journey", which i know is just keeping me safe from thinking about anything worse. thesuse2000 698 Posted August 12, 2014 Do you have a PCP? I've got a lump in my breast that I've been having monitored with ultrasounds every 6 months for the past couple years. It doesn't look serious, but they want to keep their eye on it. Hope yours is similar and not serious. 2 SandeeD and ProudGrammy reacted to this
jessiquoi 623 Posted August 12, 2014 you think i should go see my pcp instead of waiting until tomorrow to see the obgyn? i have no experience at this.

playlikeworldchamps 595 Posted August 12, 2014 The PCP can order a mammogram or ultrasound for you if the lump seems suspicious. 1 day won't matter though except to your nerves. A lump is not an emergency. Even when it is something bad it takes 2-3 weeks to go thru all the tests etc. I know because I had a bad one and it took over a month to get all the appointments and tests and the waiting is the worst part. 4 years later I am doing great. Most of the time though it can be a cyst or fatty deposit etc and hopefully that is it in your case. 2 jessiquoi and thesuse2000 reacted to this

VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted August 12, 2014 FYI, 90% of breast lumps are either benign or "movement" of breast tissue. 2 LipstickLady and thesuse2000 reacted to this
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted August 12, 2014 I have lumpy boobies. It runs in the family. There's a great chance it's nothing, but seeing the doctor ASAP for peace of mind is worth it. 1 thesuse2000 reacted to this

LipstickLady 25,682 Posted August 12, 2014 Did you see the PM I sent you? If you look on the right hand side of your messaging screen, you can see if the PM you sent was read or not. Just an FYI.
BeagleLover 1,020 Posted August 12, 2014 Just a reminder to have your mammos done every year ON TIME. I was going to put off my appointment for one back in 2000 due to my boss's pressure not to use any more sick leave. . Turns out I did have breast cancer. Due to all the improvements in imaging back then, it was caught VERY early. I had a lumpectomy; no lymph node involvement. Piece of cake. Ugh, shouldn't say that here(?)
