chasingpolaris321 214 Posted August 12, 2014 Hi all, So it's the morning of my surgery and I'm fairly certain that I have oral thrush (gross). I looked in the mirror at my tongue last night and I would be surprised if it's anything else. I'm guessing this isn't a very common situation, but does anyone know if you can undergo surgery with this? My preliminary google search didn't look good and I'm starting to feel like they are going to postpone. My parents flew in from across the country to stay with me and so I'm pretty stressed about it :-( I will definitely call my surgeons office when they open but wanted to throw this out there now. Thanks in advance!
able2cope 193 Posted August 12, 2014 I don't know if this will halt your surgery, but I truly hope not. Try not to stress until you know the outcome. Take care
Shells_Almost_There 357 Posted August 12, 2014 I don't think it will halt your surgery, but I will say surgery will make it worse. Be certain to get a prescription for the Clotrimazole before you leave because the antibiotics during/after surgery will cause it to flare up even more. I hope you have a great surgery day! JamieLogical 8,710 Posted August 12, 2014 I would think thrush + antibiotics post-surgery would be a bad combo. Hopefully they can treat you and it won't delay your surgery though!
