Premier Protein 30g of Protein and only 4-5carbs. Fairly tasty. Have one of those a day and you have made good progress toward your protein goals. My program let me count Protein drinks toward my liquid totals. It is hard the early weeks, but gets easier, i promise.

I have lots of other protein favorites, but I am unclear how far out from surgery you are.

I have found warm lemon (1/2 fresh) Water helps me to get 64 oz daily. It seems to make it easier to drink. I am 7 weeks post op and each morning upon waking I am able to drink 16 oz in less than 30 min if warmed with added lemon. If not, then it takes me over an hour to drink it. Then I drink 4 oz ever hour or so. I do this each morning and nightly before bed another 16 oz. Most of the time, I am able to get more than 64 oz.

Also find an unflavored Protein isolate and add it to your foods, I add protein to everything. You can even sprinkle it on anything you eat for added protein. Unjury, Body Fortress

It was suggested to me early on, while on liquids, that I plan on drinking each hour. 4 ounces of Protein Shake on the even hours, 4 ounces of Water on the odd hours until I met the goals. I found this very helpful as it is pretty daunting to look at a large bottle of water in week one and be frustrated that you cant drink it. I had trouble getting in all the liquid for awhile after surgery. It does get better with time

My 1st few months, it was tough to get in enough Protein. I didn't try to force it though. I literally ate zero Protein the 1st 10 days. All I could handle was nibbling on popsicles. I concentrated on getting enough Water. Eventually, the swelling in my stomach went down and I was able to start eating 1/4 cup of food at a time. Just hang in there and do the best you can.

Welcome to the Losers Bench!!!!! :D

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
