imreadynow 18 Posted August 11, 2014 I finished my insurance requirements last Friday. Only took 2 weeks to complete consultation with surgeon, nutritionist visit, psyc consult, PCP visit with labs and upper GI. Everything should be faxed to my surgeon's office by tomorrow. I've heard my insurance (Anthem BCBS of CA) approves in 3 days. It's all I can think about!! I'm hoping to be approved by early next week. HURRY UP!! 3 Roxanne9214, sylvia45 and BeagleLover reacted to this

Rogofulm 2,440 Posted August 11, 2014 Yup, I felt like that too. I suspect we all do. It's pretty much all-consuming. And then you have the surgery, and your journey is pretty much all you want to talk about for a while. It's a selfish time in your life -- and that's okay! 1 Roxanne9214 reacted to this
sunnkistme 76 Posted August 12, 2014 I have BC/BS CA. My plan requires six months of supervised diet and exercise. I thought it was a requirement of all CA BC/BS plans, but I might be wrong

Roxanne9214 3 Posted August 12, 2014 I have BC/BS CA. My plan requires six months of supervised diet and exercise. I thought it was a requirement of all CA BC/BS plans, but I might be wrong. Recheck with your ins. I thought it was 6 mths also, but they changed the requirement in Jan. to 3 mths. I was thrilled!
imreadynow 18 Posted August 12, 2014 Anthem only requires one nutritionist visit. Believe me, I've checked a million times and so did my surgeon's office. Also, two co-workers have recently had the surgery with the same requirements.
sunnkistme 76 Posted August 12, 2014 So wish I had anthem. My CA BC BS plan is still requiring the six months!! I have had every test and am ready but for two more moths of supervised diet.
