Just a quick check in, hoping everyone had a nice Sunday. It was a nice weekend here for me; I raised $380 for the Arthritis Walk yesterday and had a great time doing the three mile course. And wouldn't you know I was back out there today getting in an extra mile walk around the neighborhood. If someone told me this time last year I'd be doing something like this, I think I would have told them they were NUTS. lol.gif

Two weeks before I go for my second adjustment! I'm really going to watch my program these coming weeks, since I'm not feeling any restriction any longer. Hopefully I will with the next adjustment.

Denise-

I'm slow on the uptake. I know you said we were banded the same day. But we also have similar stats and age. How tall are you? I'm 5'2".

You are going gangbusters with your weight loss! What kind of exercise do you do?

Oh laundry is the bain of my existance! But I'd rather do the washing than mow the lawn! (I'm single so it's all up to me!) One day I'm going to be able to afford to pay someone to do my yard work.

Catch you soon,

Juli

How was everyone's weekend? Juli, I'm usually online quite a bit on the weekends, but I'm thinking since the weather is finally getting nice it's keeping us away from this board.

I felt really tight yesterday for some reason. I had a very hard time gettin fluids down so I just gave up. I only drank one bottle of Water yesterday and one Protein shake...that's all I could manage. It's much looser today...thank goodness! I don't know what could have caused that. I did quite a bit of drinking Saturday night so maybe that had something to do with it. Other than that, I have nothing to report. I haven't weighed myself in 2 weeks so I'm excited to see what the scale says when I weigh-in tomorrow night at the hospital.

More pics anyone??? Come on, let's see...we are all losing so well!!!

I am just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I still have a lot of post to catch up on.

This last week was really hard. I had my sons graduation to plan for and worked myself sick trying to get everything done around the house. I also lost someone very dear to me. His name is Matt and I've known him for about 12 years. He just turned 21 in April, and got married on Feb 14 this year. He died in an IED explosion on May 6. Matt was the most kind hearted, giving person. He always had a moment to spear with anyone who needed just a moment. He loved his family and his God. I am still crying as I type this knowing that I will never be able to see him again. There were about 250 Patriot Guard Riders at his service this past Friday. It was held at our local high school because of how many people wanted to pay their respects. The elementary school students lined the road from the funeral home to the high school. It was the most amazing thing to see. All the children mixed in with all the Patriot Guard bikers, all holding flags. I don't think that there are many people in our town who were not touch in some way by this sweet gentle person. The only thing that makes this bearable is the fact that I know where Matt is now. He is in Heaven serving God the way he served his country, with everything he has.

God doesn't make mistakes and He needed this kind soul to come home! God Bless you honey!

Mrs Husker; My sympathies to your family and his. Matt is with the Lord and his soul is shining from the heavens. God bless us all!!

Hello Everyone,

I was in North Carolina for a week and just returned. I had a FABULOUS time there. I will admit that I had some slip ups with my eating. Not that I ate a WHOLE LOT but I did eat things that I know I shouldn't have. Also, I only did one days worth of exercise and crunches. However, I can say that I did get in ALL my Water and Protein intake each day!! Now its back to reality and I have to get that scale moving in opposite direction.

It felt good to hear people comment on weight loss. I did not think that I looked that different. I always had clear skin but I got plenty of comments on my face glowing. I had to tell people that I was not pregnant. :)

I've missed you guys so so so so much. Although I had loads of fun, it felt weird not being able to log on an tell you guys. I'm happy to be back.

I want to congratulate everyone on their NSV's :clap2:

Lilnena and Demsvmejm - you guys rock. :rockon:

Tammy and Thick: :wow2: You two are beautiful! What an awesome difference.

OH Julie: I missed ya, girl!!!!

LoriPA: Way to go on the Arthritis Walk!!!

Well its time to get my butt back in gear. No more country cookin for a little while.

Hey Juli!

I am 5'6 and a 1/2 ( gotta get the 1/2 in!)

As far as exercise, I could be doing much more. I am walking and riding my bike--I live near a small lake in Dallas (White Rock) and it has a really great bike trail. I would like to start Water aerobics once school is out. I can't remember if I told you I am a teacher. School is out in 2 weeks...yeah!!!!!!! What are you doing for exercise?

Denise :)

You're TALL!!!! In my world if you're over 5'4'' your tall.

I work in a school too, but I'm the cafeteria manager. I don't get the June, July and August you get. I'm a 12 month worker, typically I get to projects to manage..and this year we have lots of camps, that I'll be keeping me busy.

What do you teach? You'll knock them dead in the fall when you go back to school!

The school mentioned above has a fitness center. (That was my project last summer.) I get in there everyday for 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training. I try to go for a long bike ride on the weekends. I'm trying to up it a bit. Since I don't have any fill in my band, I eat about 1400 calories a day and I want to keep losing. I can't seem to eat less, so I figure I just need to move more.

I have to say I'm feeling better than I have in a long, long time.

Mrs. Husker- My sympathies.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey Everyone! I finally got an appointment for my first fill! YAY!!! June 12th. I have been feeling much better about my efforts since making my revelaion about who really benefits but I can't wait for a little more "help" from my band.
I had to go see the doc before they would set up an appointment and he said it was great that I had lost another 5 lbs. I said it wasn't enough and he said I shouldn't be so hard on myself. I guess he is right - I'm just so anxious to loose more weight, get healthy and have more energy!!!!!
      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?
        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
