not so sweet protein drinks?

Recommended Posts

All the Protein Drinks I have are too sweet. Are there any that aren't or is there something I can do? The thickness is starting to get to me too except for the nectar juices but those are getting old. They all are honestly but I need to keep drinking them ::barf::.

Has anyone tried the grape Nectar flavor?

I make my own Protein Shakes. I use 8oz of 0% kill a serving of PB2 and a half of a banana. A scoop of unflavored Protein Powder. Sometimes I change it and use frozen unsweetened berries instead of the pb2 and banana. About a quarter to half cup of berries does the trick. Depending on much shake you want. Throw it all in the blender and make a smoothie.< /p>

Thx. Not allowed the berries yet but can do banana. Where do I buy the PB2? And is that milk? We can't have milk either. Will Water work?

Yeah I meant 0% milk, still kinda sleepy. I get PB2 off of Amazon.com, it's 10.50 for two containers of it. I guess you could try it with Water. My program wants us to make all our shakes with milk. It amazes me how each program is different.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
