4 months out feeling nauseated

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I was sleeved April 7 so it's been about four months. I'm down 67 lbs and am thrilled with the results so far.

Within the past week or so I've been nauseated and very tired. I've been getting my Vitamins and most of my Protein. I've been eating crackers to calm my stomach. I'm nauseated if I eat or don't eat.

Thoughts?

Hello Teachingkids,

Congrats on your weight loss in just 4 months. I was sleeved July 14 so this is all still a learning process for me. I do get nauseous easily and my Dr sent me home with a script for Zophran which is n anti nausea tablet that melts under your tongue. there are also tums that are combo breath fresheners and also taste minty as well, they help too. This was one of my fears before surgery but I am coping. I also wonder if peppermint oil in warm tea might help you. Since surgery I cant stand the smell of coffee so that vice is gone forever :)

Hope this helps a little.

Agree with Proud Granny. And are you drinking enough fluids? Nausea and tiredness can be signs of dehydration.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
