Just starting my journey

Hello everyone, I am just starting the process of trying to get the Gastric Bypass. I am wanting and needing to do this for my health. I am 62 and very happily married and I want to enjoy my life. I have so much trouble getting around because of my weight. I have spinal stenosis, osteo-arthritis, fibromyalgia, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, so I hope I can get through all the insurance hoops quickly. I see the Doctor on Sept 15, 2014 and seems like that date is so far away. Thanks for listening or reading I mean.

I just started with my seminar and first surgeon consult in July. My various insurance/surgeon required clearance appointments start this week. I'm hoping for October surgery. I've wanted this so long. So grateful its within my reach. I'm also pursuing gastric bypass.

Starting the process can be overwhelming and exciting! When I started out and went to my first support group meeting, I think I nearly cried just at how miserable I felt. Of course after giving myself this incredible gift and taking this big leap to have surgery, I can tell you it was one of the best decisions I have made. There are going to be ups and downs, but the results are so worth it. I have no regrets.....oh, and I had my surgery 10 yrs ago.
