roells7 3 Posted September 22, 2014 I plan to have sleeve surgery in December. I am really enjoying this forum! Everyone is so helpful and encouraging, so here are my questions. If you don't "feel full" while on liquids post surgery, are you always hungry? I am also very concerned about my energy level post surgery. I have three weeks off before I go back to school to complete my last semester of nurses training and am scared to death that I may feel too weak to meet the demands. I am 43 and 100 lbs overweight, so I have struggled with energy all along. My alternative is to wait till I am working but that seems even more risky. Any thoughts or experiences to share? Thanks! I am only 3 days postop, and I have experienced some low energy days, but I will be going back to work on Wednesday. I have no chose. I also have some things that I need to take care of tomorrow. I am also in school, and I have to complete my final research paper this weekend. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Life will always keep you busy. It's just how it is. Stay encouraged. Pictou 12 Posted September 23, 2014 roells7, The only time I feel really full is when I drink 16 ounces of a Protein Drink. But I'm not hungry, ever. Part of my issue may be that the hiatal hernia repair I expected did not get done because of the size. I have my first post-op appointment tomorrow and expect to see what next steps are. auntiemel 275 Posted October 1, 2014 I think most of us feel this way. I've asked quite a few times now and people say that liquids/purees are slider foods and tend to go right through so there isn't a "full" feeling. I was also told that our nerves are messed up from surgery, so it will take awhile to waken them. As it is I haven't attempted huge quantities and freaked out when I could eat a baby jar of applesauce. I know it's not much but I was expecting this huge "sign" to tell me no more lol. When we get to solids it should be more noticeable.
