4000smiles 1 Posted August 10, 2014 4 days out from surgery. Have bad metallic taste in mouth and mouth feels funny. Everything tastes bad. Can we have sugar free lollipops or hard candy. Anyone else have this?
shelly75 35 Posted August 10, 2014 You might have thrush. It's common with this type of surgery. All you need is a special mouthwash prescribed by your doctor and you'll feel better in no time. 1 BeagleLover reacted to this
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted August 10, 2014 Here is one of those instances where we are obligated to suggest that you call your bariatric team and ask them. That being said, I had that off-taste which went away when I completed some of my post-op meds.
LisaNLasVegas 91 Posted August 10, 2014 I had/still have that too. I think it is the ketosis breath from no carbs. My surgery was Tuesday - I just bought a few packs of gum today, and mint life savers. There are many different opinions on this, but I couldn't stand tasting my own breath and had to do something! ThatCurvyGirl 19 Posted August 10, 2014 Had the same thing! And it ended up being thrush!
