Curious if your feet change after weight loss

Recommended Posts

Obviously your body is going to change but do your feet get smaller too? Just curious because mine were always a size 7 until I started gaining weight then went to an 8 1/2. I know I'll need new clothes but didn't know about shoes in the months after my surgery.

You bet they do. I didn't think about it until I went from an 8 1/2 wide to a 7 or 7 1/2 regular width. Another plus is that I have ingrown toenails and they used to bother me all the time. These days, I don't have to see the podiatrist for several months at a time.

Started with a 12w and now 12m. Size 12 is expensive and hard to find. In May at Easy Spirit outlet I bought 3 pairs of sandals for around $80. That is a NSV for big feet!

I used to be a 7.5 med, then I gained weight after having my son, and gradually went up to a 9.5 med. Now after the weight loss I ve gone down to a size 9 med and sometimes an 8.5 med. I gave away several pairs of cute shoes , but oh well ! That just meant a justified reason to shop ! Have fun !

Yes they certainly do. I went from a size 6 1/2 to a seven both wide withs. Now I'm back in my 6 1/2 medium. I still have to get a wide with in tennis shoes though.

I love shopping and I will for sure use weight loss as a good excuse to revamp my shoe closet!

I didn't give this any thought until I broke out the size 8.5 sandals this summer and walked right out of them:) I went from an 8.5 to a 7-6.5 depending on the type of shoe. Whoda thunk;)

I dropped about half a size and not as wide as before. Also my feet don't swell nearly as much as they used to before weight loss. And today I noticed that when I flex my foot I can see a BONE down the front of my leg from knee to ankle. I was so excited I almost took a picture. Matter of fact I may do that. ;P

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
