kandiB 150 7 Posted August 9, 2014 My husband and I went out to a Mexican Restaurant last night, I ate a little too much and since then, I feel the same soreness around the banded area as I did for a few days after my original surgery. I didn't have any slime or other side effects (but I did a NO-NO that I normally don't do and drank with dinner) . Has anyone ever eaten too much and felt sore in that area? Just new to the Banded Life and any new pain/ache, I get concerned. I've had no other issues, just sore right there. Thanks for any advice 2 Jeannette Anndaisia and CherieRyde reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted August 9, 2014 OK, everyone who has never slipped up and over-ate raise your hand?? Hmmm? I'm not seeing any hands? Relax Kandi, you're just being normal. You may have pushed the limit on your stoma and esophagus but probably no harm done. Most of us, when we do this(oh yeah, I have), go back to liquids and soupy foods for a day or two to let the stoma recover. If the surgery demanded perfection from it's patients, no one would ever qualify. 6 Lady VS, CherieRyde, Makinchanges4me and 3 others reacted to this
BandedInBama 58 Posted August 9, 2014 That's interesting. I think maybe I overdid it a couple of days ago... It wasn't amount, but a friend took me out to lunch at Chipotle and I had to sip a little bit with my meal because it was unexpectedly spicy! The little tiny sips paired with my food (totally an acceptable amount BTW-- maybe a 1/2 a cup) made me PB. Ugh. And since then, I've had some reflux issues. Last night was awful! I was blaming it on the tiny chocolate splurge before bed, but maybe more of a stoma issue? I'm 4 years out from surgery-- is this possible?

Lady VS 1,147 Posted August 10, 2014 Bama you just maybe experiencing a little heart burn. Try some antacids and see if it helps. If it doesn't, call you doc.
