2late4bed 37 Posted August 9, 2014 Please! I am scheduled to be sleeved September 17, 2014. I am a worrier even though I am excited. The main thing that keeps me going and puts a lot of negative thoughts out of my head is reading everyone's stories especially their post surgery stats...... Please...I know it helps others reading this too. I would like to know your height. ....age (optional), presurgery weight, day of surgery weight, 1st month weight loss, 2nd month weight loss, etc. and then total weight loss and total number of months it took to reach the total loss. Before and after pics would be nice if you'd be willing to share. I know a lot of pre-sleevers like me would really appreciate this information so that we can compare ourselves to someone with similar stats...I am only 5'1" and starting at 218 pds. before presurgery liquid diet and am 48 yrs. old. Any and all stats are helpful. Thanks so very much for any and all responses that are shared.... 2 mz.newlife54 and Msmimi reacted to this

Kindle 8,667 Posted August 9, 2014 45 years old, 5'5"; HW 238; SW 216; CW 145. I never wrote down what my weight loss was as I went, so I don't know what I lost 1 month, 2 months out, etcetera. According to my ticker I met goal weight on 7/7 ( 6 1/2 months ). I STRONGLY suggest you don't weigh yourself daily or compare yourself to others. The unhappiest people on these boards are the ones that do. I only weighed about 2-3 times/month in the beginning, then weekly, now a couple times/month, mostly to have something to put on my ticker. Gauge your success by how you feel, how your clothes fit and all the other NSV's that matter way more than numbers on a scale. For me, my milestones and highlights were my rings fitting (but now they're too big), being able to shop for clothes in regular stores, crossing my legs, not feeling obsessed by food, not drinking alcohol, my knees and feet not hurting everyday, and having to buy a new saddle because my butt got way too small for my old one. 8 FairySleeve, MorenaD, haleytrim and 5 others reacted to this
AvaFern 3,516 Posted August 9, 2014 30 years old (although I was 29 at the time of surgery), 5'2, starting weight 237, current weight 150. My surgery was 9/9/13, so I'm almost exactly 11 months out. I still have about 20 pounds to hit my goal. I also read the stories of other people before surgery, although after surgery I was too focused on my own loss to be overly concerned that someone else might be losing faster than me. I do support the weighing everyday idea because it helps you recognize patterns in your weight loss. For example, I tend to get stuck around the 6's...196, 186, 176, 166, and just most recently 156, but I could go back and look at my weight (which I wrote on a calendar everyday) and see that the stall was normal and it would break in a few weeks, which prevented me from getting frustrated. Good luck with your procedure! 2 1959JimmyJames and MorenaD reacted to this
2late4bed 37 Posted August 9, 2014 Please let me clarify.....when I said I'd like to compare age, height and stats it was for an overall reassurance that someone of my height and weight was able to get to a weight that I'd be happy with. Seeing someone else succeed encourages me more than anything else. I do not plan to weigh except once a month. The scale has never been my friend and it will only discourage me if I weigh too often. I am just happy hearing of the possibilities. I am actually 5'1.5" and will be thrilled if I manage to get to 150 pds. again. I see many others close to my height that have achieved that goal and that is what I am looking for. I would be thrilled to reach 150 pds. but maybe I could hope for 140 pds. with my sleeve! We shall see... 2 1959JimmyJames and Kindle reacted to this

jgj 29 Posted August 9, 2014 Hi there, I am 57 years old and 5'6", I weighed 230 lbs June 1 which is when I started the pre surgery diet. I had my surgery in Mexico on July 1st and am 40 days out from surgery and weigh 191.6 pounds. I have lost about 2 pounds a week. I won't tell you it has been easy but it is worth it. I would remind you to follow the food guide you are given . It is important, I messed up and got ahead and suffered for it. Good Luck and you are taking a great big first step to health. Go for it 3 1959JimmyJames, #9grammy and ProudGrammy reacted to this
babish 19 Posted August 9, 2014 Hi! I am 41. Was sleeved on 4-22. My heaviest weight was 282. I was required to do a 3 day pre-op liquid diet so the day of surgery I was 271. My current weight is 226. Down a total of 56lbs. My goal is 180 so another 44 to go. ( I'm really tall!) not too bad for 11 weeks and 2 days post-op. I went and did some shopping yesterday. I'm in large or size 14 pants and was even able to buy a size medium shirt!!! Woooohooooo! I'm definitely an everyday weigher. I downloaded the Happy scale app that keeps track of your weight from loss every 7, 30 and 90 days and how much you've lost every month. I highly recommend it. I lost a total of 22lbs in May, 15+ in June and 17+ in July. Loss so far in August has been slow, just over 2lbs. Good luck to you. It's a struggle at times, especially in the beginning. But you'll be happy you did it when your clothes start falling off! 4 BarbCB, Freebird14, 1959JimmyJames and 1 other reacted to this
Pelicanlady 122 Posted August 9, 2014 Sleeved 7/8/14, 5'6", 59 years in 10 days. Surgery weight 241 no pre-diet required. Lost first month 19 lbs. I agree, don't compare yourself to others. Everyone's body reacts so different. I don't weigh myself, that way I never know if I am on a stall. I leave that to my doctor. Just keep up with your Protein and Water. I know if I could get more Protein and Water in I would probably lose more, but I will take whatever I lose. I prefer to judge my weight loss by how my clothes feel. Started in a loose 24W and am now wearing 18W. Good luck with your surgery. 2 1959JimmyJames and BarbCB reacted to this
4everbeautiful 61 Posted August 9, 2014 2 late 4 bed No doubt that everyone will have different results. Even if we had surgery on the same date. I was sleeved on July 30, 2014. I have lost a total of 26 lbs. Proud of myself, who would have thought! Beginning weight was 314. Date of surg: 298. As of yesterday: 289 With time I am sure it will get better (pounds melting). Starting next week I plan on begging an exercise pattern. Good luck! Kindle, you look FABULOUS! ! Keep up the good work!! 1 1959JimmyJames reacted to this
2late4bed 37 Posted August 9, 2014 So my fear of having the surgery and NOT having a significant amount of weight loss is dwindling. It looks like everyone has had pretty good results. I haven't heard of anyone not losing weight so far. Thanks for the response. So, Kindle, may I ask how often and what type of exercise you've been doing? I hope to have results like you...
