gossip stories/ haters gonna hate

Recommended Posts

I have two sister in laws (one on each side of the family) that gossip and talk trash about people (me, my mom, anyone with a pulse), even eachother. My surgery is in two months and I am wondering how significant weight loss may make me the talk of the family. I was bullied as a child and have a hard time dismissing this kind of stuff. My husband is nonchalant and says they will hate on you fat or skinny.

How do you postops cope? Thanks

I agree with your husband. They talk about you now right? However you handle it now continue what you are doing. The only difference is you are taking control of your health. Girl give them something to talk about.

remember their motive will most probably be jealousy and envy!

Your hubby is right people are going to talk regardless of what you do in life, whether your fat, skinny, beautiful or ugly. The reason is that in all reality they only hate what they could never be! They are obviously already jealous of you so just imagine how much more jealous they will be once you begin to drop your weight! Let them talk & let them be jealous just make sure you keep your head held high & with great pride & never let their jealousy bring you down from the top!!! (which is exactly where you belong @ the very top)

Best wishes to you!!!

Hubby is right. Sit back and laugh at their ridiculousness. You will be surprised how much confidence you might find in yourself in the months to come. This is all about you and you are worthy of the good things that will come. Smile, be the bigger person, and focus only on you and yours. Good luck!

Don't react if you hear something through the grapevine about yourself. Haters want a reaction. Don't call them or confront them or anything. Because yeah, haters gonna hate. Your best reaction to those broads is to live your best life and keep being awesome.

People are going to hate regardless, so might as well let them hate on you for something positive. (Though to be fair, I know it's harder when it's your family).

I can relate to how you anticipate feeling because an older lady at work saw my wedding photo on my desk (not sure WHY she was in my room seeing as how she works on the complete opposite side of the building in a different department) and said to me several times, "You and your husband look just alike! You look like brother and sister!" Then she said it to other people. I tried to laugh it off and say, "No, we really don't" and she's actually start arguing with me that we did.

Keep in mind, that I look nothing like my husband. The only thing we have in common is that we're the same race and we were both pretty big (I was 250 lbs, he was 300 lbs). So I pretty much felt like she was saying we because we were both fat, we looked the same.

Flash forward to now. I've lost over 100 lbs and I've overheard the other ladies in her department whispering how good I look. Wanna guess what my rude friend says to me now?

"When you gonna have a baby? Why aren't you pregnant yet?"

Finally on Friday I said, "Do you see how good I look? How hard I've worked to get here? Once you start having babies, you lose that." Then I looked at her pointedly, smiled and kept walking.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
