MizzouFan1 88 Posted August 8, 2014 Had the sleeve done yesterday with Dr. Hoehn at KC Bariatric. It went wonderfully. The staff was amazing. The only painful things were the stomach drain and gas pain. About 5 hours after surgery I was up walking around and that made me feel lots better. I got discharged this morning around 9 and feeling pretty good. So far so happy with my decision! 2 1959JimmyJames and VSGAnn2014 reacted to this
BrandyV 16 Posted August 8, 2014 I have my surgery on Tuesday and I am getting very VERY nervous!! I am ready to have it over with though too. I am getting pretty bummed about this two week liquid diet and my amount of weight loss on it. I feel I have been following it well, with little to show for it. I am still just pushing through. I hope that I am able to walk and work through this like you! Good job! And congrats on everything!!!
1959JimmyJames 61 Posted August 8, 2014 Sounds normal so far. Don't push your activity too much. You need to rest a lot.
sdvorak88 10 Posted August 8, 2014 I was up as much too. Surgery 7/28. Just make sure to not over due it too. You will get tired more easily and quickly.
MizzouFan1 88 Posted August 9, 2014 Last night was rough. All of the pain meds wore off so it was a tough night. I was a bit queasy so I couldn't take the pain med but the on call doctor called in some antinausea med, Zofran, which helped. Today still feeling rough. Reminds me of recovering from some really bad food poisoning or influenza. I have lost 6lbs since surgery on Thursday morning so I am happy about that. Slow and steady. Having trouble getting my liquids in. I had some of a sugar free popsicle but the slush went down and my stomach did NOT like it so I tossed the rest. 1959JimmyJames 61 Posted August 9, 2014 You're going to feel like this for a few more days. As bad as it hurts, you have to get up and walk. You will feel better soon.
