What is the funniest thing you remember after surgery? Or do you have a funny experience?

Nothing too funny for me, but funny for many others.... Apparently upon waking from surgery I had a FaceTime conversation with my sister. I sure don't remember but she said it was quite entertaining. Then my belly was so swollen she took pictures and sent them out telling everyone I got knocked up in TJ. And the creme de la creme.... I got C. diff from a dental procedure 1 1/2 months postop. This caused severe, uncontrollable diarrhea. One day at work ( I'm a vet tech) the " feeling" hit me and there was no time to get to the bathroom. I just grabbed a litter box from the cupboard and squatted. NOT a nice scene, yet highly entertaining to my work partner and anyone who heard the story ( which is most everyone in this small town). Some people still say "meow" when they see me.

This has got to be hard to top! :-)

Lmao thank u for that laugh. I have a stomach bug today and I toughed it out at work running back and forth to the bathroom so this hits home.

I am also a vet tech and have pretty bad anesthetic anxiety (for me, not my patients). I was telling my therapist about my fears and my past history of going into surgery in a panic attack and then of course waking up in the same panicked state. It's just like dogs, I told her. The crazy, anxious, scared dogs go under like that and wake up like that. The big, happy, kissy dogs go under happy and sweet and wake up happy and sweet. So she asked me what breeds tend to suck, anesthetically, and I told her huskies and German shepherds. I said labs are the best. She told me my mantra should be "be the Labrador."

So surgery comes around and I've been premeditated and am being wheeled into the OR, I am soooo high. I was weepy and scared but not panicking or hyperventilating. I tried to explain through my tears to the doctors and nurse about "being the Labrador" and they laughed. My surgeon asked me what breed is the worst for anesthesia and I said "Huskies f*#&ing suck!" He then asked me about German shepherds because that's what he has. Even in my drugged my state I was aware enough to know this man was about to cut into me so I just said "They're ok." Way to go, me.

These stories remind me of an e-book of medical bloopers, including some post-op comments from drugged patients. It's "Medical Bloopers:Amusing and Amazing Stories"... A red & white cover . But you have to bring your humor bone. Not for stiffs. The "Doc Hollywood" guy contributed to it.

One story above reminds me of one story in there: a patient was awakening from anesthesia and when telling the patient to get onto the stretcher to go to recovery, the nurses are saying to "move over, c'mon, move here, right there, now you're doing it, that's it... And the groggy patient said, "you sound like one of my former lovers" or something like that. Funny. Funny "crystal ball" story there, too.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
