I was sleeved July 21 and am having a really hard time the last few days. I have been an emotional wreck. Having a hard time with everything. I have no appetite and could care less if I eat or not and everything I put in my mouth makes me want to gag and vomit. Protein has been impossible for me to handle because the smell of it makes me want to hurl my toe nails up. The only thing that I have been able to tolerate is soft serve frozen yogurt and cottage cheese and sonic ice chips with lime. After I eat anything I feel as if I am having a major anxiety attack. I get all sweaty with a heavy feeling in my chest and stomach and feel like I can't breath. Is this normal or am I really going crazy??

No I don't think you are crazy! You might want to put in a call to your NUT or doctor and talk it over with them!

Praying you feel better soon!

If you are having an anxiety attack you're not going crazy! I would go see my surgeon and make sure a leak has not formed God Bless!!!

of course you're not crazy! speak to your doctor, that's what they're there for and that's why they get all that money! :) if it's an anxiety attack, you will feel better after speaking to the doc. if it's not, they will help you figure it out. when i became diabetic, i realized that to me, low blood sugar feels a lot like an anxiety attack, so don't feel like you're being a pain if you go to your doctor.

let us know how you feel later!

Talk to doc.... But remember it's NORMAL to have emotional issues .... So much is happening to you. I too am somewhat depressed, and I'm so glad you have us to talk to. I see a psychiatrist regularly and she is monitoring me closely. So much can change with meds and weight loss. Just remember you did this for YOU. And you have understanding friends here !!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
