NYCGIRL 5 Posted August 7, 2014 Can anyone tell me how much they lost within the first six month, starting with day of surgery weight, as well as whether a virgin or revision surgery? Anyone know the percentages of expected weight loss within the first month? Thanks.
Ginger Snaps 1,323 Posted August 7, 2014 There's a good tool at https://www.realize.com/do-i-qualify/potential-results%C2'> where you can put in your information and it shows you the three surgeries (band, bypass, sleeve) and what the expected weight loss is at 6 months and a year and long-term success rates. Of course, everyone is different, but this does show averages... half the people are below and half the people are above.

WillT 0 Posted September 30, 2014 Great tool but does anyone know how accurate this is, I input my information and numbers did not seem very accurate to me. More weight loss with the sleeve than with the bypass?
jacileggs 402 Posted September 30, 2014 Was accurate for what I lost 6 months post op. At the 50% range.
dsdesigna 143 Posted October 12, 2014 Too bad they don't include the Duodenal Switch in their numbers. I don't understand why they don't since the VSG is the first step of the DS and without the DS the VSG would not even be an option. I love being able to eat everything I love to eat without worrying about actual calorie count. I only worry about Protein and Fat levels, and a stay aware of carbs but not really. NYCGIRL 5 Posted October 12, 2014 Thanks for the link. They don't have the DS however it is helpful.
