OMG I'm so tired of liquids...

Recommended Posts

I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and the purée is ok but still be careful of what you eat. I was also looking forward to mashed potatoes and my new stomach was not loving them! I even thinned them out with chicken broth and they made me so sick! I stick to eggs, yogurt, chicken Soup, and a lentil soup, I will occasionally have some very moist fish. I was told I can have eggs and fish solid as long as they were kept moist. Good Luck ladies and guys. It is so worth it! I'm down 25lbs/total of 32lbs and counting!

THANKS!!! YOU'RE RIGHT I'LL NEVER KNOW WHAT I CAN TOLERATE OR EVEN LIKE WITH THIS NEW STOMACH. THINNING OUT SEEMS LIKE A GREAT IDEA

This totally made my day. I haven't laughed this hard in awhile. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one sick of post-op liquid diet. I got sleeved on 7/28 and so far have lost 20#. I have a lot of energy but I need more liquid diet ideas. Im so over it.....I keep thinking maybe my Dr will let me start purees sooner than later. Thanks all for sharing.

OMG! This post just saved my life! I am 1 week out of surgery (8/8) and have had a pretty good recovery, but is am craving foods like crazy! I know so much of this is my head taking, but man, I didn't expect this part to be so hard. It's harder than the pre-op was for me. So glad to hear it will pass, but thank you so much for bringing this up!!

Also, as hungry as I am, I am having a hard time getting more than 3 ozs of Protein in at a time, so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to eat solid food if I tried. Does anyone notice their hunger lessen the Protein they get in?

Also, SAVORY Soup RECOMMENDATIONS!! Everything Is sweet!!! I want something savory!! Help!!

Hi guys, I had my surgery on Tuesday, so today is day four after surgery, my doc has said to start puréed diet already but I'm actually feeling quite satisfied with the liquid / Protein shake diet so I'm going to stick with it for at least a full week then introduce a puréed Soup once a day for a couple of weeks and see how I go. I've lost 9lb already !

I went to a restaurant with my partner yesterday and sat and watched him eat a full meal, have a dessert and a big frothy sweet coffee. I had a glass of Water, cup of tea with skim milk and sweetener and not for one moment felt like eating. I also went through a Macdonalds drive through today and picked up a large Big Mac meal with coke for a friend and found the smell in the car horrible, again, I didn't have any desire to eat !

I hope this lasts !!!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
