MistyAnnMoon829 387 Posted August 6, 2014 I had surgery on 7/24 and even though I am on liquids, I did dabble in solids twice and I ate tuna, and pork and had no problems as well as turkey pepperoni. You may just be a slower healer. I'm sticking with my liquids and taking it slow just in case. 1 alwaysvegas reacted to this
finediva 979 Posted August 6, 2014 I was not allowed any food for the first 10 days. Just Water and broth. Thankfully I had no desire for food. Now 19 days later I'm still on pureed food and keeping it very simple. Cream of wheat, applesauce and pureed chicken Soup. Plus two shakes a day. I'm having a really difficult time eating all this food. I have to constantly watch the clock and schedule a meal. I'm having and even more difficult time with the 64 ozs of water. I have no idea how people are doing it.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted August 6, 2014 You will eventually enjoy food again but right now you need to focus on not making yourself sick. Worry about enjoyment later. eggs and meat are two things that are notorious for causing problems early on. Try other things that might be easier on your stomach. If you are not lactose intolerant, try a few bites of Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. Maybe some refried Beans. Try the ricotta bake from TheWorldAccordingtoEggface's blog. If eating solid food is still giving you problems, go back to lots of full liquids (protein shakes) for a couple of weeks and then try again. Not everyone is ready for solids so soon after surgery. You may also want to discuss with your surgeon if you are still having problems tolerating soft foods after trying different things. Good luck!
Jersrose43 837 Posted August 7, 2014 Can you describe the symptoms a little better? Is it just dizziness or are you eperiencing pain? The dizziness may indicate something not stomach stage related
