Hi! I had my RNY on 9/22. I'm down 55 pounds. I stalled from Thanksgiving to about two weeks ago. I finally started to lose again. I began exercising and tracking my food. I seem to be able to eat as much as I want and only stop because I know I shouldn't. I'm never physically hungry but battle my head hungry chronically. I'm tracking calories, exercise and Protein, mostly without denial. It amazes me how I can try to fool myself about portion sizes and grazing doesn't count. When I really track, portions and every morsel that enters my mouth, I'm good. This surgery truly has been a gift from God for me, but it hasn't cured my obsession to food. I'm working on that one day at a time.

Great job on the 55lbs.

I had a problem with hungry and my doctor told me that she wasn't increasing my calories (still eating 700 a day) u ntill i eat at least 70 grams of protein a day, i eat 80g now. And that did the trick! I'm not hungry any more and i don't go over 700cal.My trick- i eat shrimp or chicken for Breakfast, lunch and dinner with lots of veggies a few crackers and lots of Water.

I hope that helps! ;)

Doing great! Weightloss is slowing down but still adding up. I am 12 lbs from goal and 5 lbs from reaching the 100 down mark. I'm eating more calories than i thought I would be by now, but also exercising pretty heavily.

Happy 10/11 month surgerversary! As of today, I am down 125lb and I just reached ONEderland! The weight loss has definitely slowed down, but I have seen great result with loosing inches, as I maintain my gym regiment. It is so amazing how much my life has change (for the better) over these past 11 months! I am enjoying being active with my kids and finally not having to pay extra for Plus sized clothing! YES! I know that I won't be at my goal weight by my 1 year mark, but I know that I will get there!

Alright September 2014 folks, what's going on? Post your updates!post-228557-14384358498974_thumb.jpg

Hey everyone! Wow 11 months! I'm so happy to be on this side of the weight loss journey. I am now 177, 27lbs a way from my goal. I started at 300lb and surgery weight was 265. I am losing my weight very slowly now and eating about 1,000 cal a day. I was working out like crazy and then wasn't sleeping. Now I workout 5 days a week and I feel much better.

I was approved for skin surgery so that will be my next goal. Meeting with the plastic surgeon in a few months.

I'm proud of everyone here; keep up the great work!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
