Hey fab@@forty! Thanks for asking! I am doing pretty good. I was sleeved sept 11th and as of today I have lost a total of 36 pounds! I still have a ways to go, but definitely feeling more energetic! However, I am having such a hard time eating slow and not having anything to drink with my meals. I just had my 6 week follow up and the dr said I should be consuming around 1400 calories a day. I'm nowhere near 1400 calories a day. I'm lucky if I'm able to get in around 700 at most. How are things with you? Any struggles?

Wow 1400 calories. Are you seeing a weight loss surgery nutritionist? My nutritionist gave me a 700 cal and 70 grams of Protein goal for the next 3 months and I had the RNY on 9-11-14. Try and see one so you can tell them your exercise routine and etc. Hope that helps.

I had my revision from band to bypass on 9/15. I'm doing great in terms of being able to eat. I haven't had any issues at all with that. I'm not as happy about my weightloss. I'm down 23 lbs since surgery. I have only lost an average of 2 lbs per week this past month. That's fine except that I expected it to come off faster after bypass. I did turn 50 this year, and I do believe what they say about it being harder to lose as you get older!

I had my surgery 9/2 and things are moving slow. Only down about 27lbs. Was hoping for more but I've always been a slow loser. I am down 2 pants sizes so that is nice. I also lost 10 lb preop. I also found I can't tolerate eggs.

I'm glad it's not just me. Surgery was 9/23 and post surgery weight loss is 25 lbs and holding. I think it should be quicker too, but like you - losing inches and going down in sizes. I guess our bodies are trying to find a new "normal".

Nope, not just yall, I held at 250, loss of 29 lbs for 2 weeks, upped my Protein and lost 4 lbs, now I'm holding tight at a total loss of 33lbs.... I'm discouraged to say the least. If anything, I'm not getting protein & Water levels met but sheesh I have to make myself eat at all. I'm so glad I'm not alone here!!!

Oh gosh, if I couldn't tolerate eggs I probably wouldn't get any Protein. I have gotten so sick of sweet Protein Drinks that my Dr suggested an egg with cheese and that's probably all my Breakfast has been for 2 weeks now. They did say we would find intolerance to things we never had a problem with before.

I can't have anything greasy, was in a pinch and had to eat out and had a piece of chicken, and that caused dumping. 3 bite and I was so sick!!!

Ok glad it's not just me...

HW 295

SW 245

CE 219

R n Y on 9/15 and only lost 26 pounds, but I did lose 32 inches! From size 22 to 18 and some 16w.

I feel better and look better. Recently went to a party with old friends and got lots of compliments. Since I'm newly divorced I sure need them.

I keep reading how much more others have lost and keep wondering what I'm doing wrong.

It's still such a struggle to drink all of Water and I'm getting nighttime leg cramps from dehydration. I just started taking Potassium pills.

Let's talk Constipation. WTH? I've never had this problem. Taking Miralax every day and ex lax every 3.

Hellloooo, September friends!

I'm doing well. I was 333 pre surgery, 312 on surgery day, and am now 277. I've had some stalls but I just jump my calories up to around 900 and it seems to break them. Most of the time I'm at about 750 cals a day.

My weight comes off in weird ways. I lose nothing for a week and then drop 5 pounds at a time. It's been like this consistently. Anyone else notice this? It's strange.

I'm feeling so, SO much better than I did the first month after surgery. I have been walking, but haven't gone to the gym yet - waiting for my 8 week appt for clearance.

Things I cannot tolerate: chicken (sometimes), dairy (sometimes) and eggs (sometimes). It's not consistent, and I really think it's the way I eat - I just need to slow down. :) I haven't tried any sugary foods or processed carbs, so have no idea if I handle them well. I'm scared to try them!

It's so nice hearing all your stories. :)

Hi Fab@@forty! I also was sleeved on 9/23. I was feeling great up until this week. I am suffering a gout attack. Other than that I'm doing great. I've lost 20 pounds since the day of my surgery.

Hello my September 2014 folks! How is everyone doing? How did you do during the holidays with all the sweets and treats. I think that I did a good job. I cooked and just made sure that my family knew that they would need to bring their own Desserts, as I would not be providing sweets! I am currently 50lbs down since the surgery (70lbs since starting my pre-surgery diet). I was hoping to be down 75lbs(95 total), but I had a serious stall for about 3 to 4 weeks! OMG! I am finally back on track!

@@Fab@Forty you are doing great! I am down 50 lbs, 43 since surgery. I feel like it is coming off pretty slowly for me. I haven't done a great job of cutting way back on carbs, though, so that is my goal for the new year! I made the usual treats for the family and only indulged in them a bit. It looks like I will not be a dumper, unfortunately. It is crazy because we still have some frosted sugar Cookies laying around -- normally it is a major struggle to keep them around until Christmas -- and I only made single rather than double batches this year!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
