NewMeDebbie 196 Posted August 5, 2014 Plateaus are very normal during this weight loss journey. You have lost 52 lbs in 8 months! You are doing great! First evaluate if you have changed your eating and exercise... (this is my issue) You get complacent after a while and begin to eat a little more and exercise a little less. If this is the case, recommit. If it's not the case... To get things going again, try going back to basics, follow the diet you did right after surgery starting day 3. Do that for a few days and see if it helps... Just my opinions of course Good luck on your journey. 4 BeagleLover, terrydumont46, moorep and 1 other reacted to this
4me4them 381 Posted August 6, 2014 I haven't had the surgery yet and I have found that in my supervised diet phase, using an app to track my food has been really important to helping me stay within my calores/carbs/protein. I've never used one before so I am a recent convert for sure....but I would recommend a focused use of a food logging program for a couple of weeks to make sure you are within a weight loss range... 4 geelynn, BeagleLover, maxcimax and 1 other reacted to this
thesuse2000 698 Posted August 6, 2014 Agree with the tracking recco. You can't determine what's going on without keeping good track of what you're eating. If you're one who hates to track then I would try to focus on Protein and veggies for your meals - it helps you feel more satisfied and you usually can't eat as much protein as carbs. And of course avoid grazing/snacking. You can get yourself back on track - good luck! 2 FairySleeve and BeagleLover reacted to this
moorep 2 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) I understand the frustration. I have been in a stall for the last 4 months. Trying to break it..... Edited August 8, 2014 by moorep 1 NewMeDebbie reacted to this
Karen Parvin Miller 1 Posted August 12, 2014 I'm so glad someone else is having this problem. I thought there was no way possible that I would stall after having this procedure! It's been a constant struggle these past few months.. I started tracking my food again the past few days and upped my exercise so I'm hopeful 1 NewMeDebbie reacted to this
Tgarden 76 Posted August 15, 2014 Water, Water, water! I have had a few stalls myself, and when I focus on drinking lots and lots of water, that seems to help. I know stalls are normal, but that doesn't make them any less frustrating!! Keep up your great work.
educ8em2 0 Posted August 16, 2014 Thank GOD it's not just me! I have been stalled since around March or April. Okay, I had a medical issue that began in February, which inevitably required surgery, so I just couldn't exercise. Since I had several weeks of recovery from that episode, naturally I didn't exercise.....and just haven't gotten back into that swing of things. Then there's those darn hot mochas from Mickey D's! My addiction! I have decided to completely eliminate them, which I'm sure will help and yes, I'm determined to get back into the exercise regime again. Any other suggestions? I generally eat the same things and I always make sure to eat the amount of Protein I'm supposed to, yet my protein levels dropped below the lowest level. Why? I have no idea. Again, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have 37 more pounds to lose in the next 11 months! Thanks to you all!!
