I need some bread!! I know it's not good but I would like a sandwich even if it's one slice of bread. Any recommendations of breads should buy if I decide to eat it ?

How far out are you? If you must have bread bread do whole wheat with no added sugar (or molasses or honey or corn syrup).

If the info on your profile is correct your less than a month post op. Why the heck would you be thinking about actually eating something you shouldnt be touching for a long time.

No recommendations on bread from me. I recommend eating some Protein. Dont start down a path you will regret later.

if your post op plan is like mine, and includes ALL foods, then make a good wise choice on your carbs and go for something like a whole grain or wheat bread. but...FOLLOW your plan.

the center of excellence that i went through has a MASSIVE program and encourages a well balanced diet of all foods including your complex carbs like whole grains for proper brain function, metabolic function, etc.

just follow whatever post op plan you were given- you don't want to derail your plan or go against your surgeon's plan of care for you.good luck!

Yes I was given permission for 1/2 a piece of bread. I just wanna be sure which kind of bread. I'll ask my nutritionist. Thank u all for your info . As for Protein, I'm at 100 to 120g a day. Btw my question was about BREAD not protein :)

FYI i really like the Arnold brand "Dutch Country" 100% whole wheat bread. it packs a lot of Fiber and is really good toasted.

i have had many-a-morning with a fried egg over easy and 1/2 piece of toast with real butter. DELISH!

i have also had some with PB and All-fruit on it. also DELISH!

awesome that your doc recognizes the body's needs for ALL macronutrients including fat, Protein AND carbs. they aren't evil and can be a healthy part of a balanced diet. good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
