happymama2014 206 Posted August 5, 2014 Am seeing some people say weeks out feeling great! Others 4 weeks out with no energy... What's the secret there must be a difference? Not enough Protein ? Different foods? I need to go back to work after 2 weeks so I want to do what I need to be healthy and feel good. I work at a desk so no biggie I will get exercise just walking to my desk from the parking garage.
Tamlyn 107 Posted August 5, 2014 I don't know how much this matters, but my doctor told me to drink regular juice and Popsicles instead of sugar free ones. (Plus water.) He said the first week out, you need the sugar for energy. I had my surgery last Tuesday and was back at work today (Monday). I wouldn't say I feel great, but I have enough energy to get through the days without Protein. REALLY looking forward to full liquids, though!! 1 Ima Fox reacted to this

How long did your doctor have you on Clear Liquids that you are almost a week out and haven't started full liquids yet? My nutritionist only has me on clears for 2-3 days. McButterpants 2,846 Posted August 5, 2014 Before surgery, I tried to get in the best shape I could - I believe that was my key to an easy and speedy recovery. I worked out at the gym and walked regularly prior to surgery. I was able to walk immediately after surgery (seriously, once I left recovery, I started pacing in the halls). I got tired easily for the first 2-3 weeks after surgery. I telecommute full time - I had my surgery on Thursday and went back to work 1/2 days the following Monday. It was nice to know that I had the afternoons to take care of myself - I wasn't expected to answer the phone or answer emails. I could rest or walk if I needed.
