old gall bladder scar

Recommended Posts

I have an old gall bladder scar the old way they used to perform it. I was told that you may not be able to have a full TT if you have that scar. Has anyone else heard this or had this and was able to have a full TT. My tummy is in bad shape already (appearance wise) and I know that I will be needing a TT and not just a panniculectomy.

I had honestly never heard of problems with an old gallbladder scar - So I searched t and found lots of information...

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=old+gall+bladder+scar+and+abdominoplasty&rlz=1C1KMZB_enGB510GB510&oq=old+gall+bladder+scar+and+abdominoplasty&aqs=chrome..69i57.8496j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8#q=old+gallbladder+scar+and+abdominoplasty&spell=1

Apparently to do with slow healing etc

Must admit before my Inverted T surgery I had a 5 inch scar from previous hernia surgery and that caused no problems at all in healing etc.

I hope the above info is of some help to you

Are you speaking of the scar that goes straight down the middle of your stomach? It may not be a problem if your plastic surgeon does a fleur de lis abdominoplasty.

Are you referring to the scar that goes straight down the middle of the stomach? If that is the case research a fleur de lis abdominoplasty. If the plastic surgeon is unable to a regular Tummy Tuck or lower body lift ask about a fleur de lis abdominoplasty.

I have a huge 10 inch gb scar. Ps said the best one for me would be what sweet pea is talking about. It would get rid of the across abdominal scars and give one straight in the middle and tighting the abdominal muscles:-) hour glass figure.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
