My medicine feels stuck :/

Recommended Posts

I took my medicine this morning and it feels stuck in my chest. I take 2 large pills that I have to break in half, 3 small round ones, and a capsule.

It just feels stuck and it hurts. I half way feel like I have to throw up and if I burp it is bitter, the medicine, I guess.

Is Saturday my unlucky day? Last Saturday I was vomiting all day and got admitted into the hospital.

This just hurts!

I had the same problem very often in the beginning. I'm 3.5 months out now and only my lipitor is huge and still feels stuck sometimes. I managed to get everything else in small pill, dissolves or is cheweable. The Calcium citrate were the worse but I take chews now.

How long does it last? Will it finally go down or dissolve? This is just awful. It is seizure medication so I have to take it....

I am going to try and get in a capsule form. I take so much medication I would actually love if I could get it in an injection until everything heals and is better. I have no issue with injections.

Hi, pik, it's probably too late to help this time, but if it ever feels stuck again, try sipping some hot tea or other hot drink. I'm pre-op but have had meds get stuck before and the hot beverage seems to dissolve things quickly. Hope this helps.

It felt like it went away but it is back and I cannot keep anything down.

I was just admitted to the hospital last Saturday for this and it makes me wonder if I am going to be headed back...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
